Fashion Wars
Oh dear, yet another Fashion court case looming!
The word in the press at the moment is that the well known biker boys 'Hells Angels' are suing British Fashion House Alexander McQueen. They are accusing McQueen of misusing their trademark Wings Death Head logo. The items in question are the 'Hells Four Finger Knuckle Duster', 'Hells Knuckle Duster Clutch' and a scarf and dress both called 'Hells Angels' (quite coincidental huh?)
So why are the Hells Angels so peeved? Well, not only have they had their trademark for years but on top of that it takes an individual years to work up to the stage where they are awarded the "patch" (a fabric badge they sew on to their jacket).
Watch this space to see what happens!!!
In other news it seems that Alexander McQueen has bumped heads with another fellow designer but this time they are the ones being copied! Harry Potter Costume Designer Jany Timime has been accused of almost replicating Alexander McQueen's iconic AW08 Peacock Dress. The dress was used in the new Harry Potter film as a wedding dress for one of the Characters. Whilst McQueen HQ have refused to comment, Jany told the press that the birds were not Peacocks but in fact Phoenix but many have said that there are not many differences between the two designs. What do you think?

The MOBO Awards Style Review
Last night the MOBO Awards finally arrived!!
There were some fantastic performances; some well deserved awards and some fabulous outfits. Check out my style highlights (and lowlights lol):
Alesha Dixon
Reggie Yates said he wanted to present with a 'Queen' and that's what he got!!
Alesha turned up in style with a pink and black satin shift dress with oversize detailed shoulder pads and a long train. She finished the look with beautiful slicked back hair and sparkles on her peep toe platforms and earrings.
For her performance, Alesha looked fully armoured with a white studded number; massive shoulder pads with spikes protruding from them. To finish the look she wore black hot pants and a white studded glove on one hand. She almost looked as if she should be in a very glam American Football game, but she looked fab all the same.
Tulisa Contostavlos
Wow this young lady has made a big style transformation over the past few years! Last night Tulisa wore a metallic gold babydoll dress and finished the look with black shoes with gold toe caps and a matching gold bag. I wasn't too sure with this outfit choice but what do you think?
For her performance, Tulisa wore a beautiful pink tunic tapered in by a glitzy gold belt; she looked the business, so elegant!!
JLS
I had to get these guys in somewhere; their style was simply on point. I saw velvet, tuxedo jackets, Gothic boots and even a bit of bling on the trousers (Well done Aston!). I particularly liked JB's velvet belted jacket which sooo reminds me of those nice smoker jackets..It’s all in that collar!!!
Skepta
I am very very sorry to say that I have no picture for it but I must mention Skepta's outfit. He was wearing a fabulous sequined Jeremy Scott x Adidas tracksuit. Very funky, very unique and very controversial according to Twitter! I'll search some more for a picture of him wearing it and keep you posted!
Rochelle Wiseman
In my opinion the stunner of the night, Rochelle wore a tight corset style dress which looked amazing on her. Very simple but very sexy!
There are so many other people I could mention in this post but I would be here all night! So I'm gonna leave you on a high note...here is the top lady Kanya King, wearing a beautiful sequined dress picked out by none other than the fashion guru herself, Jada Styles! Well done Jada!
Signing out!

Collaborations
There are so many great fashion collaborations happening at the moment so it is only right I dedicate this post to some of the most anticipated and fabulous collections to bless 2010!
LANVIN FOR H&M
Wow, this is going to be massive! One of the oldest French Fashion Houses is teaming up with one of the best High Street Stores! Alber Elbaz, the Artistic director for Lanvin, explains how his plans are not to make Lanvin for H&M a 'Dress for Less' project, but to make H&M more luxurious, which to me is a fantastic vision to have.
I love the ad, very simple, but very effective:
So you may be wondering what Lanvin has in store for us...well look no further because a sneak peek has now been published! LBD's, LBD's, LBD's!! From frills to tuxedos, from puffs to prints, these dresses are everything Mr Elbaz said they would be...Luxury. And I love the finishing touches they have made to the campaign, the hair and the blacked out shades make the look even more like an expensive designer brand.
The collection will be available to buy in 200 stores worldwide on 23rd November which will include 30 pieces and 15 accessories for women, and 25 pieces and 10 accessories for men.
JIMMY CHOO FOR UGG
Another interesting collabo...Jimmy Choo and Ugg create a funky new take on the standard Ugg boot. Although I feel that some of them are a bit 'Waggified' I think there could be something for everyone here, you have the studded ones, the prints, the stars, the - slightly less out there - fringe ones and the ones that look like knee high socks!
Take a look:
Although be warned, they come at a hefty price from £495-£695!!! I'll keep my eyes peeled for anyone I see out wearing them - and then I'll mug them because I know they can afford a 600 quid pair of Ugg boots....OK, OK I'm kidding....please read on!!!
PHARELL WILLIAMS X MONCLER
I LOVE this men's outerwear collection! As seen on Skepta, who I believe purchased his today and the man of the hour Pharell Williams, the 'bullit proof-esq'* down vest is just fab (*The 'Bullit Proof-esq' down vest is not really bullit proof so please avoid getting shot OK?)! Pharell's new collection was premiered in Paris' Colette and it seem it went down a storm!
I have included a few pics below, there are so many I feel I must show you!

Enjoy!

All That Glitters
I love adding that extra special touch to an outfit, so I decided to add a little sparkle to my life!!!
I'm currently working with my favourite Mister, Ace Boogy, under a great new brand called Arora PR. A brand that supports the most exclusive parties and events across the UK, keeping people in the know about top elite parties, urban events, fashion and lifestyle. I currently work as Ace's stylist and over all life saver ;-) .....so when he asked me to think of some branding/clothing ideas I thought... RHINESTONES!!
I decided to customise a plain black T-Shirt with Red Rhinestones...check out my first attempt!
I'm really looking forward to my next stab at it, I'm sure I can do one even better than this so stay tuned!!

Size Matters.
OK so this probably isn't quite the post you had in mind (you dirty so and so's!), this is actually a review on a recent purchase I made.
Next have an absolutely great AW range at the moment, I have been literally hooked on their website for weeks thinking of what looks i'll be going for this season.
So I decided on some fabulous items including a pair of tan loafers, thigh high boots and a gorgeous pair of biker jeans (which by the way were a steal at £25!).
So you may be thinking to yourself 'Yeah, so what Amy?' Well, when I ordered my items I noticed that some would be arriving earlier than others. The first to arrive were my thigh high boots and my soon to be favourite biker jeans. Thing is when they arrived I tried them on and was so disappointed to find that I couldn't fit into them - I know I have put on a but of weight recently and I have had to move up to size 10 but surely I was no more than that? If I actually wanted to fit into a pair of these I would probably have to go to a size 14, so I'm not sure if there would be much hope for those who are more shapelier than I am! So I decided to put them up against my tightest size 10 jeans to see how they varied and this is what I found...

My tightest size 10's below and my new 'Size 10's' on top! |
So as your have probably guessed these will need to go back to the shop much to my disappointment! And to top that off its been about a month now and I am still waiting for 3 more items to arrive!
Although it hasn't totally put me off buying from Next, I will definitely think before I purchase!
So be warned ladies!!
