£4 Thursdays!!

Yesterday me and my lovely cousin Kirstie went to Fire and Stone for a meal and I must say it was an interesting experience! Every Thursday they have a special offer where you can buy any pizza for just £4 so I thought why not give it a go!

Fire and Stone is basically a pizza parlour, but before you even think it...ohhh no, it's not just your regular Pizza Hut, they sell all kinds of bizarre toppings based on signature dishes you would find in different continents across the world. I was a bit dubious at first, what's wrong with just a Margarita?? Especially when I saw that they served potatoes, yes potatoes as a topping on the majority of the pizzas!!

So anyway I tried the New York pizza which had the usual cheese and tomato but it had rosemary potatoes cut into tiny squares, bacon, caramelised onion jam and dollop of sour cream right in the middle. The verdict...pretty good but I feel like I need to go there again and try something really different next time as I found it just a little bland....I had my eye on another pizza you see, with hoi-sin sauce and prawns but thought it might be best to play it safe...maybe next time. Kirstie however had the Canberra pizza which had chicken, sweet chilli sauce, potatoes (again) and lots of other things and hers was really tasty!

Pièce de résistance
One thing I am sure of though, they do some FAB cocktails!!! Kirstie had the Chocolate Martini which was amazing, it tasted just like a spicy chocolate milkshake. I'm not usually into creamy cocktails but that was nice!! I had a Margarita and I have to say that my mouth is watering just thinking about one! That was also very good :-)

And guess what??? We got all that for £20!! The cocktails are obviously where they make their money as there were very steep for a restaurant of that kind but hey they were worth the extra spend (especially as Kirstie paid, he he)!

Here is the website if you want to check out the menu:

I'm sure I'll be blogging quite a bit over the weekend anyway but have a good weekend whatever you do!! Mwah!!!

Birthday Boy!!!

It's the 20th September already!

Today is the is the 263rd day of the year, it's the day that the first ever Cannes Film Festival was held (in 1946) and today is also my brother Stuart's Birthday!! It's a bit of a milestone as he has finally reached the big 30 and wow how time flies! I am actually finding it quite odd that he has reached that level of maturity, to no longer be in your twenties means that you are definitely grown up! Not that he was never mature before but I'm sure he understands what I mean ;-)

Stuart's very awesome birthday card

So today it seems my brother had a good day in bed nursing a terrible weekend hang over that decided to stick around for a couple of days to see in his special birthday. However there were a few lovely highlights for the day I'm sure. He got some great presents from his girlfriend and soon to be baby son or daughter, the in laws bought him a great card which said 'AwesomeMan' on it (he says finally someone understands his liking for super heroes!), and from me he got.......POWER!!

So just to explain what I mean by this, I bought him a Kymera Wand made by The Wand Company. You may have recently seen the creators of the wand on Dragon's Den on BBC2, but if you haven't heard of it before it's basically a gadget that looks like a wand (obviously) but it is actually a remote control! It can learn up to 13 commands and can control things like your T.V., iPod docking station and other household electricals that are controlled by a remote. I have now also seen on their website that they seel enchanted candles to go with the wand so that you can now even control lighting with it!

The Wand

Look at that face!!

What I love about my brother is that he is very young at heart which makes him a lot of fun to be around and makes me feel like there is less of an age gap between us, so as soon as I saw it I knew that was the present for him and it was great to see his face light up when he saw it! The ultimate boys toy!

If you would like to take a look at the Kymera Wand then you can find a link to their web page below, but if you already have one you can also check out some great hints and tips on how to use it and there should be some cool downloads on there as well:

Another highlight was that my colleague  at work made some fabulous cupcakes today too so she kindly gave me one to take home for him which he really liked. Good times!!!

So a MASSIVE Happy 30th Birthday to my big brother, there is not a cooler, smarter or more caring brother than you in the whole wide world! I didn't choose you but I wouldn't choose anyone else to be my Brother! (Queue the tears!! ;-D)

Delicious!!!

"And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb", "What a stupid Lamb", "What a sick masochistic Lion"

Yes, that's right, I can only be talking about 'The Twilight Saga'!!

So I am now reading 'Breaking Dawn' which is the 4th addition to the saga and it is unfortunately the last book too (for now) as some mean person illegally leaked the author's draft of her fifth book, 'Midnight Sun',  which if you know about 'Twilight', you may agree that this could have been the best book yet!!

If you don't know much about 'The Twilight Saga' or you are just starting to read the books then I won't spoil it for you because I know only too well that it is annoying when people tell you more than you need to know (only the other day I nearly spoiled 'Breaking Dawn' for myself by just looking for the date of the film release and coming across some still pictures I really didn't want to see!). One thing I will say is that the books are ABSOLUTELY FAB and the films are also great, it was actually the first film that made me want to read the books so much! Some people might think that they are just a books/films for hormonal girls but that couldnt be further from the truth, the books in particular are quite mature and I even know some men who like to read the books and watch the films too (and yes they are straight!!). So if you are looking for a good read, look no further! Here are the books and films you should look out for:

Books
  • Twilight
  • New moon
  • Eclipse
  • Breaking Dawn
You may also find the partial draft of the fifth book, Midnight Sunset (now legally posted by the author, Stephanie Meyer) at the following address:

Stephanie Meyer has also released a spin off book called 'The Sort Second Life of Bree Tanner', again, I haven't read this yet, I'm going to wait until I've finished 'Breaking Dawn'.

    Films
    • Twilight
    • New Moon
    • Eclipse
Breaking dawn will be released (possibly in two parts) but I dared'nt look at the internet to find out the premier date again just incase I ruin it for myself completely!!

Hope you take my advice and read the books, if not even watch the films! They are definitely worth it!

Those red eyes in true Twilight fashion!!

    And so it begins....

    Hi Everyone!

This is my very first post on my new blog and I have to say I am very excited!

You may wonder why I chose Aimer as my blog name, the reason is because it has a connection with my name, Amy, which means 'to Love' in French, another word used 'to Love' in French is Aimer. I thought very hard about the name as it represents me and who I am so this one suited me best!

The main things I'll be writing about in this blog is, well, everything! I'm not going to write about a specific interest because I have so much more to give!!! But I'm sure you will clearly see my main interests once I get going!

So, I hope you will visit my blog again soon and I will definitely be looking out for blogs I can visit myself now so if you have one let me know!

    See ya!
